Chiranjeevi and his son Ram Charan are two of the most beloved stars in the Telugu film industry, both adored by fans. While they have made significant contributions to Tollywood, they have also ventured into Bollywood, making notable debuts with strikingly similar roles in their first Hindi films.
Megastar Chiranjeevi made his Bollywood debut in 1990 with the film 'Pratibandh', where he portrayed Inspector Siddhanth. Siddhanth is a complex character, shaped by a tough upbringing in a strict orphanage where he was deprived of love and kindness. As a police officer, Siddhanth is a man of principles, even going so far as to marry a woman to protect her from a threatening schoolmaster from his past.
Fast forward to 2013, and Ram Charan, following in his father’s footsteps, made his Bollywood debut with the action thriller 'Zanjeer', where he shared the screen with Priyanka Chopra and Sanjay Dutt. In this film, Ram Charan plays the role of ACP Vijay Khanna, an honest and determined officer relentless in his fight against corruption. Vijay’s mission is to bring down the notorious gangster Teja. The film is a remake of the 1973 classic.
On the professional front, Chiranjeevi is currently working on the highly anticipated socio-fantasy film 'Vishwambhara', directed by Vassishta Mallidi. Recently, the makers released the first-look poster of Chiranjeevi wielding a powerful trident overflowing with energy. The film’s star-studded cast includes Trisha Krishnan, Kunal Kapoor, Ashika Ranganath, Isha Chawla, and Surbhi. Music for 'Vishwambhara' is being composed by the legendary MM Keeravani, and the film is slated for release on January 10, 2025.
Meanwhile, Ram Charan, last seen in 'RRR', is set to return to the big screen with the political thriller 'Game Changer', expected to release around Christmas 2024. The film features Kiara Advani, SJ Suryah, Srikanth, Anjali, Jayaram, Sunil, Samuthirakani, and Nassar in leading roles.
Ram Charan is also gearing up for another project, tentatively titled 'RC16', directed by Buchi Babu Sana, where he will be paired with Janhvi Kapoor. Additionally, he has 'RC17' lined up with director Sukumar.
