, directed by NV Nirmal Kumar, is releasing on December 6. Uday will be making his debut as a lead actor in Telugu with this film and tells us about the film's journey.

Tell us a little about yourself?

My mother is from

Jadcherla

and father is a retired English lecturer from Maldakkal near Gadwal. I studied at Ambedkar University and cinema has always been a passion of mine since childhood. Initially I acted in a couple of films produced by Rockline Venkatesh, and liking my sincerity he gave me a role in Aatagadhara Shiva, directed by Chandra Siddharth. It was the remake of the Kannada film Rama Rama Re. I had to grow my hair and beard for a year to match the character.

How did you land Mismatch?

I had made up my mind to do a strong message-oriented film with healthy, family content. Mismatch is about a young man prepared to sacrifice his love to see his girlfriend's dream come true. Director Nirmal Kumar was brought on-board based on his previous film, a Tamil film called Salim. He did an excellent job with the storyline and showcasing the strengths of the actors.

How did it feel sharing screen space with Aishwarya Rajesh, who is known to be an excellent performer?
With it's only my second film, it's her 25th. She is a great actress whose character in the film will be the cornerstone of it. She treated me like a friend and took steps to ensure I was at ease on sets.
