‘Arya 2’, which released in 2009, also featured Kajal Aggarwal, Navdeep, Brahmanandam, Shraddha Das, Mukesh Rishi and Sayaji Shinde. The Sukumar-directed film was among the much-awaited and highest grosser of that year. The sequel ‘Arya 2’ brought back Allu Arjun as Arya and was directed once again directed by Sukumar, with young producer Aditya Babu on board. Devi Sri Prasad composed the score for the first installment and reprised that task for the sequel successfully.

We can say that it’s been nine years since the film released but the memories are still fresh and vivid in our minds. The movie didn't take much time to reach the theatres, as the makers released it soon after the wrap. Two orphans Ajay and Arya fall in love with their colleague Geetha at a time. The rest is who will win her heart. While Allu Arjun had played a psycho friend, Navdeep had essayed an orphan-turned-rich kid in the film. They came together and made us feel excited. The film has showcased the better performer in Allu Arjun and helped him to reach much closer to the audience, especially youth.

‘Arya 2’ was deserving of recognition, convincing nominees for all sorts. The film received six Filmfare nominations, which is one of the highest honours that a film can earn, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Music Director, Best Male Playback and Black Lyricist and, won Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer – Telugu - Priya Hemesh and Filmfare Award for Best Dance Choreographer - South - Prem Rakshit. Priya Hemesh won the award for singing the song ‘Ringa Ringa’ and, Prem Rakshit received the award for composing choreography for the song ‘Mr Perfect’.

Sukumar has joined hands with Vema Reddy to write dialogues for the super hit film. Marthand K Venkatesh, who is known for editing the films like ‘Arundhati’, ‘Pokiri’, ‘Daddy’ and ‘Tholi Prema’, ‘Fidaa’, ‘Happy Days’, ‘Desamuduru’, to name a few, has handled the editing for the film. B Rajasekar was the cinematographer of the movie. Arguably, ‘Arya 2’ is one of the best youthful entertainers in Tollywood today.
