Actress Aakanksha Singh
has been roped in to play an important role in the upcoming
Telugu
film, '
Meet Cute
.' In June 2021,
Natural Star Nani
surprised his fans by announcing that he will be producing a film directed by his sister
Deepthi Ganta. After few days the makers revealed that Aakanksha Singh has been finalised as the female lead.
A source says,''It’s an
anthological film
that will air on an
OTT
platform. It will have around five short stories of approximately 20 minutes each. Aakanksha plays the lead in it. It’s a
women-oriented film
, and her part in it is very unconventional and different from her previous ventures.''
Excited about the project, the actress says, ''I currently shot for Meet Cute in Hyderabad. I’m excited about collaborating with Nani again. We’d earlier worked together in Devdas, and it was a great experience. My part in the film is unique and something I’ve never done before. It’s a women-centric script, and I’m glad that I’m the hero of the story. I hope the audience enjoys it as much as I’m enjoying working on it.''
Aakanksha Singh made her Tollywood debut with the 2017 film 'Malli Raava,' opposite Sumanth. She then starred in Nani and Nagarjuna starrer 'Devadas.' Both films were huge successes. Now, she signed her third Telugu film titled 'Meet Cute,' which is a multi-starrer dominated by a
female cast
. While Vasanth Kumar handles the cinematography, Vijay Bulganin is the music director. Avinash Kolla and Garry BH handle the art and editing departments, respectively.
