Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya movie review highlights: This detective thriller is on-point

Directed by debutant Swaroop RSJ, Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya features AIB fame Naveen Polishetty in the titular character and Shruti Sharma as Sneha, his assistant.

Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya is a detective who solves small cases and hopes for a big break some day. He believes his reputation precedes him, even if that's not the case. Clumsy, funny, underrated and brilliant, it's hard not to root for the character. With time, Agent SSA lands a huge case filled to the brim with conspiracies, dead bodies, parallel narratives and more. A missing girl, her grieving father, a stray dead body and shady police set him off on a path that might prove dangerous for him.

The first half of the film takes its own sweet time to set up the story and its lead character. While it might feel like a drag for some, it's replete with humour that's both self-deprecating and situational. The jokes land for most part and audience is kept on the edge of the seat till the interval point. Will Swaroop and Naveen manage to really pull off a tale like this is something that remains to be seen!
