Akshara popped the question when I hinted I’m ready to marry: Viva Harsha

ceremony was held at a star hotel in Hyderabad and had 180 of the couple’s closest friends and family members in attendance.

Harsha has known Akshara, an M.Com graduate, for four years now and says they gradually fell in love with each other. “I met Akshara through mutual friends and we have been dating each other for two years now. Somewhere along the way, the both of us knew that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives with each other. It just happened naturally,” says Harsha, excitedly.

The comedian says that while his parents Satyanarayana Rao and Rama Devi were immediately on-board with the relationship, Akshara’s father Gouri Shankar took some time to say yes. “Akshara was the one who proposed to me when I hinted to her that I was ready to tie the knot, it was very sweet. But her father was a little apprehensive because she had not told him about me till then. Only her mom (Satya) knew about us. But once I spent some time with her father, he got to know me and was finally convinced. He even got emotional at our engagement ceremony,” shares Harsha.

Although low-key, Harsha’s engagement was a starry one with the actor’s Tollywood friends such as Sai Dharam Tej,

Sushmita Konidela

and Sidhu Jonnalagadda gracing the ceremony. Harsha says he plans to tie the knot sometime in June or July.

“My sister Shweta stays in Los Angeles and she couldn’t make it for the engagement due to the pandemic. I plan on getting married whenever she can make it, hopefully around June or July. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with Akshara,” he says, signing off.
