Tollywood star Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13, 2024, in connection with a tragic stampede that occurred during the premiere of his much-anticipated film, Pushpa 2, on December 4. The incident took place at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad when a large crowd gathered at the theatre to see Allu Arjun, reportedly without prior notification to the police about the film team’s attendance. Reports indicate that the police were not informed in advance about the actor's attendance, preventing them from deploying adequate security measures. The situation escalated due to overcrowding and a lack of separate entry and exit points for the audience. As fans surged forward to catch a glimpse of the star, chaos ensued, leading to the collapse of the theatre's main gate and ultimately resulting in the stampede.

Following the stampede, authorities launched an investigation, filing cases against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management. Deputy Commissioner of Police Akshansh Yadav confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) was filed under sections related to culpable homicide not amounting to murder and voluntarily causing hurt.

In response to the incident, Allu Arjun expressed his heartfelt condolences to Revathi's family and pledged support for their needs. He announced a donation of Rs 25 lakh to assist them during this challenging time and stated that he would personally meet with them to offer his support.

The police had previously arrested three individuals associated with the theatre, including one of its owners and a senior manager, as part of their investigation into the incident.

On December 12, Allu Arjun approached the Telangana High Court seeking to quash the FIR filed against him, denying any wrongdoing. His team has clarified that he has no political ambitions amid speculation following his comments during a recent promotional event for 'Pushpa 2'.

As per latest report by India Today, Allu Arjun before making his official statement to the police will be going through a medical check at the Osmania Hospital.
