Allu Kanakaratnam's demise: Allu Sirish remembers his dear "nanamma"; recalls fond memories of his grandmother
Allu Arjun and Allu Sirish's grandmother, Allu Kanakaratnam, passed away on August 30, at the age of 94. Remembering his grandmother, actor Allu Sirish has now penned an emotional tribute, fondly recalling the many cherished moments he shared with her.
Taking to social media, Sirish shared a series of throwback family photographs alongside a heartfelt note. Remembering her as his dear "nanamma," Sirish wrote about the little ways in which she shaped his childhood. He fondly recalled how she would secretly slip him pocket money without his parents knowing, shield him from his father's anger, and lovingly apply ubtan powder on him after long summer afternoons of play, in hopes of removing his tan.
"My fondest memories of her would be the secret pocket money she gave which my parents weren't aware of, protecting me from my father's anger and applying ubtan powder on me after playing outdoors in summer, hoping to de-tan me," Sirish wrote in his note.
He further shared his gratitude for being able to spend meaningful time with her in her final days. "I am happy we spent quality time with her, in her last days. She will always be remembered fondly as a lot of her traits and genes have passed down in all of us. Will miss her a lot," he added.
Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, and Chiranjeevi, along with other close family members, carried out pallbearing duties at her funeral. During the ceremony, Allu Arjun's young son, Allu Ayaan, broke down in tears while saying his final goodbye, being gently comforted by his father.
