Alluri Seetaramaraju, one of the biggest hits ever in Krishna's career, has completed 40 years. Directed by V. Ramachandra Rao, the film had Krishna and Vijaya Nirmala playing the lead roles. Tripuraneni Maharadhi had written the dialogues and it released on May 1st, 1974.
Talking to the media, Krishna said, "I have fond memories of acting in Alluri Seetaramaraju and I think I was destined to play the role.

Initially, Shoban Babu was supposed to act in the film; however, in the end, I did the role. It was the first ever Telugu film to be shot in Cinemascope. We faced a number of issues during the making of the film and even distributing the film had become an issue at one point of time. In the end, the film released and it went on to become a blockbuster."
Krishna was accompanied by Vijaya Nirmala and Naresh, who recounted their memories associated with the film while talking to the media.
