Ami Thumi Movie review highlights: The film fares average with loose dots of laughter
Director
The movie is about two couple who confront their inner conflicts but things take a turn when another character 'Sri Chilipi' gets introduced.
The trailers and songs of the movie had already hinted the movie to be a comedy, and the first half stays true to that clue. The 2 hour 4 minutes movie opens with a war of words between Deepika and her father, who is against her marrying the boy she loves.
The film’s plot revolves around two love stories - Ananth (Adivi Sesh) and Deepika (Eesha Rebba) and Vijay (Srinivas Avasarala)and Maya (Aditi Myakal) – and their parents, who are hell bent on getting their daughters married to a rich grooms. The film however takes a turn when Deepika’s father fixes her marriage with Chilipi (Vennela Kishore) from Vizag.
Eesha Rebba’s expressive emotions steal the show. And the best part was her conversation with her father, played by Tanikella Bharani that evokes much laughter.
The highlight of the film is the way Vennela Kishore, who plays Sri Chilipi, speaks the Telangana street lingo. However, he could have given much more to the role. Srinivas Avasarala and Adivi Sesh, on the other hand, kept true to the script and did their bit.
