Anand Mahindra requests SS Rajamouli to make a film on Indus Valley Civilization; 'RRR' director responds
On Sunday, Anand Mahindra, the chairman of Mahindra Group, took to Twitter to express his admiration for this ancient civilization and suggest that it would make for an excellent film project. He specifically called out SS Rajamouli, the director of blockbuster hits like Baahubali and RRR, to consider taking on this project and creating global awareness of this ancient civilization.
The businessman took to his Twitter and wrote, ''These are amazing illustrations that bring history alive & spark our imagination. Shoutout to SS Rajamouli to consider a film project based on that era that will create global awareness of that ancient civilisation.''
Rajamouli, for his part, responded enthusiastically, recounting his own experiences while shooting Magadheera in Dholavira and how it inspired him to think about a film on the rise and fall of the Indus Valley Civilization. He even had a specific idea for the story, which would be narrated by an ancient tree that had turned into a fossil.
However, one netizen suggested that Sanjay Leela Bansali might be a better fit for this kind of project, given his flair for stylish visuals and color themes. Another netizen disagreed, arguing that Rajamouli had a better handle on how to handle big crews and war sequences, although he could use a bit less melodrama in his films.
He wrote, ''Sanjay Leela Bansali also could be a better choice for a movie like that. As his colour themes and all would be very classy. Mr. SS Rajamouli is very busy with his ongoing projects after RRR has broken records.''
Another netizen wrote, ''SLB is great director, but he can't do justice like what rajamouli does with history films, rajamouli knows how to handle big crew and war sequences too. He just need to tone down bit melodramatic tone in his films then he'll just be a perfect director.''
Regardless of who ultimately takes on this project, the fact that people are discussing the idea of a film about the Indus Valley Civilization is an example to the enduring fascination and mystery surrounding this ancient society. While much about their way of life remains unknown, there is no denying the impact that the Indus Valley Civilization had on the development of human civilization, as we know it today.
