Celebrities from the Malayalam film world
Anupama Parameswaran (JSK, Premam) and
Darshana Rajendran (Hrudayam, Paradise) have shared their experiences of the Telugu film 'Paradha', in which they are currently starring together. The actresses have recently spoken eloquently about their casting experiences, challenging shooting environments, and the friendships formed during filming. In particular, Anupama emphasized the joy of working with a Malayalam actress in a Telugu film.
Anupama Parameswaran shared her joy working with Darshana
In a recent conversation with Dhanya Varma, Anupama recalled the moment she learned that Darshana, whom she considers her close friend, had been chosen for the lead role of Ami. “While thinking about who was going to play this role, I was skeptical that Darshana would ever act in Telugu cinema. But when director Praveen and producer Vijay approached her, I was very excited. I believed that only she could do this role well. So I did all kinds of black magic and puja to get her to agree (laughs)," Anupama shared jokingly.
Darshana opened up about her debut Telugu experience
This was Darshana's first experience in Telugu cinema. She recalled the physical and emotional challenges she faced while shooting for Bharatha. "We all gave our blood, sweat and tears for this film. The shooting locations were tough; we had to start early in the morning, make long journeys, and every day someone would suffer from ill health. The producer worked hard to keep everyone on track,” Darshana shared. At the same time, she added that these challenges created a strong bond among the cast.
Paradha narrates Subbu’s journey of transformation
Directed by Praveen Kandrekula, 'Paradha' is a female-centric film that tells the story of a young woman named Subbu, who lives in a traditional village, and the changes she encounters in her life during a trekking trip. This film, which was an emotional experience for Anupama, stars Rag Mayur, Sangeetha, and others. The film, with music composed by Gopi Sundar, was shot on a mix of theatrical and natural settings – Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, and rural India – and is set to release on August 22.
