Anushka Shetty & Krish mourn the loss of Vedam Nagaiah

Director Krish Jagarlamudi, who introduced the late Vedam Nagaiah to the big screen, paid condolences and mourned the passing of the actor.

Nagaiah took his last breath on Saturday due to bad health and the director wrote, “రాములు గారు.. మీమగ్గానికిసెలవుఇచ్చారు.. కానీమీరెన్నటికీ వుంటారు.” (sic) (Dear Ramulu, you have left your weaver loom but you will forever be in our hearts.) In the film, Nagaiah had played the role of Ramulu, a poor weaver from Siricialla in Telangana who migrates to Hyderabad.

Director Krish had spotted him and given him the opportunity to act in the Allu Arjun, Anushka Shetty, Manchu Manoj starrer Vedam in 2010. The actor later bagged many good opportunities and went on to act in films like Nagavalli, Seema Tapakai, Okkadine, Ayyare, Gamanam and more.

Actress Anushka Shetty also mourned the death of Nagaiah. She wrote "A good soul has ascended to heaven today. My deepest condolences to family of Nagaiah garu and may god bless and comfort them during this time of grief. Om Shanthi"(Sic)

Talking about how he got the opportunity to act in Vedam, he once said, “Director Krish once asked me to come to his office and I went. Then he asked me to tell a dialogue he had written. When I did, he instantly confirmed my role in the film. We shot the movie for over 6 months and I got a huge name post-release.”
