Aman Preet Singh who made his acting debut with the 2021 Telugu film titled ‘Teravenuka’ will now be seen in a new film titled ‘Ninne Pelladuta’. The film which is said to discuss honor killing in the name of casteism is set to release on October 14. ETimes Telugu approached Aman to discuss his upcoming film and other new projects below are the excerpts from the short conversation.

Could you please talk about your new film 'Ninne Pelladutha' and why was the film named after a blockbuster Nagarjuna's film?

My new film is releasing this Friday and it is titled ‘Ninne Pelladuta’, and the movie is named after the blockbuster Nagarjuna and Krishnavamshi’s film ‘Ninne Pelladuta’ by the makers. Initially, I was very scared to name our film with such a classic. But the makers insisted on having it due to its subject, so I have been left with no option. We have the biggest supporting cast in it. It is a commercial film but has lots of true elements and talks about honor killing that is practiced in remote villages even today. The lead pair are from two different communities and the story is about how they have won their love against all odds.

Is this movie releasing under the title ‘Rama Rajya’ in Hindi (or) is that a different film altogether?

That is a different film altogether and that has all the cast and crew entirely from Bollywood, it was shot 3 years back, but due to the pandemic, it got pushed. It is basically about a student who goes to Gurukul where he learns how different religions and castes live in harmony. This film gives a message that all castes, creeds, and breeds should live under one roof as per Lord Rama's principles.

Are there any other new films you are currently doing, apart from the above, as the Internet shows some other films with the title ‘Production no: 1’?

No, Production no:1 was a working title for my ‘Ninne Pelladuta’. So, that’s not a different film, it is the same ‘Ninne Pelladuta’ made before it was named.

Your first film talks about casteism, and your debut Hindi film talks about equality, is there any particular reason for choosing such subjects?

There is no such reason, it is just that ‘Beggers are not choosers’, as a newcomer whatever script we get we have to take that and we are no one to choose. So, I’m a beggar here…! As you see, my debut Telugu film is ‘Teravenuka’ which was released last year but wasn’t very successful at the box office. Then this film ‘Ninne Pelladuta’ came to me, and Rama Rajya is my third film.

If you see, Rakul has made her acting debut with a south film and you too have made your debut with a Telugu film, could you please talk about the TFI (Telugu Film Industry) and your experience of making acting debuts with south films despite being from Delhi?

Working here is amazing to be very honest, Telugu filmmakers are very professional, our debuts were in the south is a pure coincidence and I have been watching Telugu films ever since I was a 7 years kid. I have been following the Telugu Film Industry even before Rakul made her acting debut. I have been watching her grow and now I’m making my acting debut here…!

Did Rakul give any tips and suggestions for you to be successful in the TFI as an actor?

She has given lots of them, She says hard work and discipline are more important than luck in this profession. She always says that one should keep their head down and keep working hard, one day success will knock on your door for sure. For her luck is nothing. I always take advice from her.

You are speaking such a good Telugu, any best friends you made in Hyderabad in the Telugu Film Industry?

I have been living in Hyderabad for the past 7 years, I have made lots of friends here and people who are dear to me are Lakshmi Manchu, Neha Shetty, Siddhu Jonnalagadda, and Sundeep Kishen.

Have you been to any film school or acting classes, before making your acting debut in Tollywood? And is there any chance that you act in your Telugu friend's films?

Yeah, I did theater for one year in Delhi, when I was 21 years old I started a theater, and I did lots of short films for Men's XP, and other portals. After 7 years I got my first project ‘Teravenuka’. You know any no.of people here, it doesn’t matter, talent alone counts here. If you are talented, people will give you a chance. Even if you know everyone, you have a chance, but if audiences are not accepting you then there is no point, It’s a pure business here and this market is very tough to crack in.

Did any Tollywood director approach you just because you are Rakul Preet Singh's brother? Or Did your sister refer you to any Tollywood filmmaker?

You know what has happened to me multiple times, directors come to me as I'm easier access for them than my sister. They’ll narrate the subject to me and everything and while leaving they’ll tell me, this was written for your sister, so, just convey to her that I have a good subject for her. There were around 25-30 scripts where they approached me for my sister’s appointment and I got frustrated. That is the only value addition I had as Rakul’s brother.

Never has my sister taken the phone and called someone saying he is my brother and cast him in this project. They just know me as Rakul’s brother, nothing else.

What kind of films does Aman want to do?

I went to Mumbai and did multiple-shot video stuff besides giving multiple auditions and doing short films. Then I was more inclined to the Telugu film industry and I auditioned for negative roles. I felt negative roles is something that will work for me.

But, by the time I got the negative role, several issues had come into the project. That movie never took off, but by now I learned Telugu fluently and they have said I should try as the main lead, and I'm doing that.
