‘Bha Bha Ba’, ‘Sah​akutumbaanaam’, ‘Missterious’ and other South India films to catch as they hit the big screens THIS weekend

The third week of December is packed with multiple regional releases in different languages. The movies include family entertainers, action thrillers, and chilling horrors. Let’s take a look at some of the films hitting the big screens this weekend and what audiences can expect from each of them.

‘Bha Bha Ba’

‘Bha Bha Ba’ is an upcoming Malayalam action comedy film starring Dileep and Mohanlal in the lead. Helmed by Dhananjay Shankar, making his directorial debut. The title of the film stands for “Bhayam,” which is fear, “Bhakthi,” which is devotion, and “Bahumanam,” which is respect.


The trailer shows the ‘Drishyam’ actor in a special appearance and shows a flashback portion in the film that will tell the bond between the two characters. The film also stars Vineeth Sreenivasan, Dhyan Sreenivasan, and others like Sandy Master, Balu Varghese, and Redin Kingsley in key supporting roles. It has received a U/A certificate and is set to hit the theaters on December 18th.

‘Sahakutumbaanaam’

It is a Telugu family drama directed by Uday Sharma. It stars Raam Kiran and Megha Akash with veteran stars like Rajendra Prasad and Brahmanandam. The film is expected to be a heartwarming story with a genre of romantic comedy drama. It has earned a U/A censor certificate. The official trailer launched around late November 2025, showcasing chaotic family antics under one roof.

The movie was originally set to release on December 12, but the makers postponed it to December 19 out of respect for Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Akhanda 2: Thaandavam,’ which shifted from its earlier announced release date.

'Missterious'

The movie is a mystery thriller directed by Mahi Komatireddy. The movie is about a police sub-inspector’s mysterious disappearance. It is investigated by ACP Anand Sai, uncovering twists involving an architect's wife and more conspiracies. It stars ‘Bigg Boss’ fame Rohit, Abid Bhushan, Meghna Rajput, Riya Kapoor, Balraj Wadi, Srinivas Bhogireddy, and others in key roles. It has earned a U/A 13+ rating with a 132-minute runtime. The music is given by M.L. Raja and cinematography/editing by Paravasthu Devendra Suri.
The movie was also slated to release on December 12th. However, it was also shifted to a December 19th release.

'Kombuseevi'

The film is a Tamil gangster action drama that shows R. Sarathkumar and Shanmuga Pandian as a comical, fierce uncle-son-in-law duo inspired by real 1996 events in the Usilampatti and Andipatti regions. Directed by Ponram, the film is a village masala that also includes Tharnika, Kaali Venkat, Kalki Raja, and Anaira Gupta. The movie is set for worldwide theatrical release on December 19, 2025.

Jinn

Coming from Kannada cinema, the movie is a horror-thriller, which is about four friends travelling to an exam. During that time, they experience a sinister supernatural presence near a pond, which leads to a car crash and traps them in a coma. The movie is also set to hit the big screens this weekend, on December 19th.


Directed by Chinmay Ram, the film includes young faces, featuring Prakash Thuminad, Ravi Bhat, and Sangeetha Anil, and also has Bala Rajwadi. It is written by Parveez Simbha, as per IMDb.
