Veteran Telugu actor Chalapathi Rao Garu, passed away yesterday at the age of 78 at his residence in Hyderabad, soon after his dear friend, Kaikala Sathyanarayana's last rites were carried out. His last tweet about the same is going viral now, in which he had written, “Nuvvu Kooda Vellipoyava Sathyanna” which means “Did you too leave me Satyanna?” The post was accompanied by an old pic of Kaikala Satyanarayana seen humbly hugging Legendary SrNTR. Chalapathi Rao is said to be close friends with Kaikala Sathyanarayana.

Once the scary villain Chalapathi Rao later turned into a dear Baboi both for the Industry people as well as the Telugu audience. Most who spoke about him say the same, he used to be a very lively person on the film sets who brings laughter and makes their work enjoyable. Chalapathi Rao Garu has acted in a variety of roles with 3 generations of actors in Tollywood.


He also acted in Tamil and Hindi languages besides Telugu. He is also remembered for playing five roles in one film ‘Daana Veera Soora Karana’ under the direction of senior NTR in which Sr.NTR himself played 3 roles besides, producing, directing and editing the film.

Chalapathi Rao also has turned a producer and done films in Tollywood with Nandamuri Balakrishna and other actors besides producing a few Tele-serials in Tollywood.
