Chi La Sow preview: Rahul Ravindran's debut directorial has high hopes pinned on it

Rahul Ravindran of ‘Andala Rakshasi’ fame is venturing into direction with his debut directorial ‘Chi La Sow’.

Starring Sushanth and Ruhani Sharma in lead roles, the film charts the journey of a 27 year old called Arjun, who’s pestered by his mother and friends to get married soon. However, the Salman Khan fan and Hanuman devotee wishes to lead a happy-go-lucky single life. But when his mother sets him up with a girl called Anjali and he ends up falling in love with her, he is confused as to how to go forward.

. Annapurna Studios is backing up the film and the promotional activities saw a lot of support from Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya and Samantha. Talking to a website, Rahul Ravindran had revealed that the idea for the film came forth when he witnessed a friend’s wedding few years ago.

The theatrical trailer of the film was released on July 28 by Nagarjuna and it met with tremendous response. Rahul Ravindran also revealed to the website that the preview shows of the film have been met with good response, even from Naga Chaitanya and Samantha. Apart from Rahul Ravindran’s debut as a director, ‘Chi La Sow’ also marks Ruhani Sharma’s debut in Telugu films.

The filmmakers opted for quirky promotions before the film’s release, holding contests, allowing fans to win tickets to watch the film’s premiere show with the cast. The film premiered in the US on August 2. Talking about the film’s release and revealing a bit about the story, Vennela Kishore, who’s also starring in the film, took to social media and wrote, “#ChiLaSow all set to release tomorrow. As our @iamSushanthA plays the sherlock to find the escape route from getting married, i play sujeeth..the watson who isnt sure why he’s taken along. Meeku kudirithe thappaka choodandi.” (sic)
