Chiranjeevi and Kamal Haasan were most affected by Sarath Babu's passing: Suhasini Maniratnam

Veteran actress Suhasini Maniratnam addressed the press following Sarath Babu's funeral, shedding light on the profound impact his passing had on Chiru and Kamal.

"Chiranjeevi and I spent a significant amount of time with him at the hospital. Unfortunately, Sarath couldn't respond to us, and Chiranjeevi was visibly moved, on the verge of tears. He personally conversed with the doctors and did everything possible to assist him," she shared, adding, "Sarath shared a close bond with both Rajinikanth and Kamal, but the latter is particularly devastated. Despite being engrossed in the shooting of Indian 2, Kamal grieves deeply for not being able to attend the funeral."

Veteran actor Sarath Babu, who has been battling for life at a private hospital in Hyderabad since April 20, breathed his last on Monday. The 71-year-old was hospitalised after multi-organ failure, which has also been reported as his cause of death. He was admitted at a hospital in Chennai before he was shifted to Hyderabad for treatment where he was on a ventilator. Earlier this month there were rumours of his passing, but his sister had brushed them off as his health was stabilised.

His last rites were held in Chennai on Tuesday in the presence of his loved ones and celebs.
