Chiranjeevi, Surekha join Pawan Kalyan as they rush to Singapore after son Mark Shankar’s school fire incident

Pawan Kalyan's 8-year-old son, Mark Shankar got injured during a fire accident at a school in Singapore on April 8th. The young boy, who was attending a summer camp at the school in the River Valley area, suffered burns on his hands and legs and experienced respiratory complications due to smoke inhalation.

As per a Deccan Chronicle post, Pawan Kalyan, along with his elder brother Chiranjeevi and sister-in-law Surekha, were spotted at the airport late on April 8, boarding a flight to Singapore. The family members appeared visibly worried as they made their way through the terminal.

Pawan Kalyan, who serves as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, had initially been on a scheduled tour of the Alluri Sitarama Raju district when he received news of the accident. Despite suggestions to immediately halt his tour, Kalyan chose to fulfill his commitments before departing for Singapore.

The deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh issued first official statement on X (formerly Twitter), it reads, "Our youngest son, Mark Shankar, was injured in a school fire in Singapore and is being treated in hospital. He is gradually recovering. Mark Shankar is gradually recovering due to these good-hearted wishes and blessings. I sincerely thank everyone."
The fire incident at the school affected several children. Viral footage of the rescue operation showed firefighters breaking through windows to evacuate trapped students and staff.

Mark Shankar is the son of Pawan Kalyan and his third wife, Anna Lezhneva. The couple also has a daughter named Polena Anjana Pawanova.

On the working front, Kalyan has three projects in his pipeline. He will be next seen in the upcoming 'They Call Him OG', 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu Part 1 Sword vs Spirit' and 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh'.
