Allu Arjun is gearing up for the release of his much-anticipated movie ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, and the makers have dropped a jaw-dropping trailer glimpse at a grand event in Patna, Bihar, today (November 17).

In a recent chat with India Today, Allu Arjun spoke about his career and journey in the entertainment industry. During the conversation, he also shared his favorite movies of all time. Let’s take a look at his 6 favorite films, including both Hollywood and Bollywood.

​Forrest Gump

The 1994 American comedy-drama 'Forrest Gump' is one of Allu Arjun’s favorite films. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, it is an adaptation of the 1986 novel by Winston Groom, with the screenplay written by Eric Roth. The movie features Tom Hanks in the title role, alongside Robin Wright, Gary Sinise, Mykelti Williamson, and Sally Field. The movie tells the story of Forrest Gump (Hanks), an Alabama man, as he navigates his life through key events in 20th-century America. Forrest Gump has an official remake in Hindi, titled Laal Singh Chaddha, starring Aamir Khan, which was released in 2022.

​Titanic

Allu Arjun called 'Titanic' one of his favorite Hollywood films. This 1997 American epic romantic disaster film by James Cameron incorporates both historical and fictionalized aspects of the sinking of RMS Titanic in 1912. Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet played the lead roles in the film, which also features Billy Zane, Kathy Bates, Frances Fisher, Bernard Hill, Jonathan Hyde, Danny Nucci, David Warner, and Bill Paxton. The movie won 11 Academy Awards.

​Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

Allu Arjun also shared some of his favorite Hindi movies, and one of them is 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' (DDLJ). This 1995 romantic film, directed by Aditya Chopra in his directorial debut, features Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol as Raj and Simran. Two young non-resident Indians meet and fall in love while vacationing in Europe with their friends. Raj works hard to win over Simran's family so that they can marry, but Simran's father has already promised her hand to the son of his close friend. The film was shot across India, London, and Switzerland. The movie was the highest-grossing Indian film of 1995.

​Maine Pyaar Kiya

The 1989 romantic movie 'Maine Pyaar Kiya' (MPK), which marked the directorial debut of Sooraj Barjatya, featured Salman Khan in the lead role, with Bhagyashree making her acting debut. It also features Alok Nath, Mohnish Bahl, Reema Lagoo, Rajeev Verma, Ajit Vachani, and Laxmikant Berde in supporting roles. The film follows the love story of two individuals, exploring their journey from friendship to romance, and the challenges they face in overcoming family differences to be together. The film was also dubbed into Spanish and released as 'Te Amo'.

​Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar

'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar' (JJWS), directed by Mansoor Khan, featured Aamir Khan, Ayesha Jhulka, Deepak Tijori, Pooja Bedi, Mamik Singh, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda in key roles. The music was by Jatin–Lalit. The movie, released in 1992, was remade in Telugu in 1999 as Thammudu, which in turn was remade in multiple languages. The Telugu version featured Pawan Kalyan, Preeti Jhangiani, and Aditi Govitrikar in significant roles. The film was remade into several languages and became one of the finest examples of coming-of-age movies in Indian cinema.

​Karan Arjun

The 1995 movie 'Karan Arjun', starring Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Raakhee Gulzar, Mamta Kulkarni, and Kajol in lead roles, holds a special place in Allu Arjun’s favorite movie list. This Hindi fantasy action masala film, directed by Rakesh Roshan, featured Amrish Puri as the main antagonist, while Johnny Lever, Arjun, Jack Gaud, Ranjeet, and Aasif Sheikh played supporting roles. The movie received positive reviews and became an "all-time blockbuster," becoming the second highest-grossing Bollywood film of 1995, after 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'.
