Despite having personal fitness trainers, personal dieticians, and being health conscious, celebrities are the victims of heart-related ailments and attacks as well. While a few embarrassed death, a few fortunate stars survived the stroke. ETimes compiled a list of actors who worked in Telugu films and have encountered near-death incidents as they suffered heart-related ailments.

Born and brought up in Hyderabad, Sushmita Sen made her film acting debut with the 1996 Hindi film ‘Dastak’ and acted in a bilingual film ‘Ratchagan’ opposite Nagarjuna Akkineni. The former Miss Universe survived a heart attack and underwent an angioplasty recently. Sush announced her illness in a social media post. She also appeared in a couple of special songs in south Indian films.

Popular Telugu actor Sivaji Raja was recently admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad following a heart stroke. He was reportedly rushed to the hospital after suffering severe chest pain. He is reported to have undergone heart stent surgery and is fine now. Sivaji Raja has acted in more than 400 films to his credit and played a variety of roles in Telugu films.

Telugu actress and filmmaker Renu Desai recently shared that she has been dealing with heart-related issues for some time now and mentioned that at times it gets very difficult to find strength and to make sense. Renu made her acting debut with the 2000 film Badri and then left films after the 2003 film Johnny besides marrying Powerstar Pawan Kalyan. She is currently making her comeback with Ravi Teja’s ‘Tiger Nageswara Rao’.

A popular Telugu comedian has undergone a bypass heart surgery after he felt discomfort in the chest. He has acted in more than 1000 films in Tollywood. Recently he was seen in ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ as a Singing programme Judge and is yet to announce his other new films.

'Aparichitudu', 'Mallanna', and 'Saamy' actor Chiyaan Vikram was reportedly rushed to the Chennai hospital after he felt chest discomfort. After getting treated, the actor returned healthy and happy.

South superstar Rajinikanth has reportedly undergone Carotid artery revascularization, a procedure to restore his blood supply to the brain at Kauvery Hospital, Alwarpet Chennai in October 2021. He was successfully operated on and discharged from the hospital in just a few days.

The ‘Adipurush’ actor Saif Ali Khan who will be sharing a screen with Pan-India star Prabhas is said to have survived a heart attack in 2013. Later, after getting treatment at the Lilavati Hospital, the actor was back to normalcy.
