Karthi has teamed up with Drishyam fame
Jeethu Joseph for an emotional thriller. Starring former heroine
Jyotika in a pivotal role, the film has been titled as
Thambi
in Tamil and
Donga
in Telugu. After striking the right chord with an engaging teaser, the theatrical trailer of Donga has been unveiled on social media by Karthi and as promised, it seems to have all the ingredients to pack a punch with the Telugu viewers.
The over 2-minute trailer introduces Karthi as the long-lost brother of Jyotika who returns home after 15 long years. While
Sathyaraj plays the father to the duo, Seetha is essaying the role of their mother and legendary actress Sowcar Janaki will be seen as their grandmother. While Karthi suddenly shows up one day and reveals himself to be Sharwa, everyone tends to believe him but Jyotika remains sceptical about him. Along with high-octane action sequences and emotional moments, there is a mystery element in Donga which is quite evident in the trailer.
The video promos hint that Jeethu Joseph has woven an intriguing tale of a family caught up in a maze of deception. Along with Viacom18 Studios, Jyothika's brother Suraj is bankrolling the project. While Govind Vasantha is composing the tunes for Donga, acclaimed cinematographer RD Rajasekhar is handling the camera. The film is scheduled for a December release.
