Ghantasala Ratnakumar

, the son of late legendary singer Ghantasala, breathed his last after suffering a heart attack in Chennai on Thursday (June 10).

Ghantasala Ratnakumar suffered a massive heart attack on Thursday. He had been admitted to a hospital in Chennai after he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus a few days ago and was suffering from Covid-19. He was tested negative for the virus a couple of days ago. However, he was also suffering from kidney ailments and was undergoing dialysis. The dubbing artiste was on the ventilator for the last few days.

Ratnakumar was at a hospital in Chennai, where he breathed his last.


Ghantasala Ratnakumar broke on to Tollywood with his film debut, with the 1978 film Kanchi Kamakshi as a dubbing artist. Before that, he sang several songs in

Telugu

and Tamil, but he couldn’t manage to pull off the scene. With a career spanning over 35 years, he has lent his voice for 1,076 films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and

Sanskrit

. He has also known for dubbing over 10,000 episodes in Telugu and

Tamil

television serials and more than 50 documentaries. Ratnakumar hold the India Book of Record for dubbing eight hours non-stop. He has already entered the Amazing World Records and Tamil Nadu Book for Records.


Details regarding his final rites are still awaited. His demise has come as a shock to his fans and the industry.
