Dulquer returns to the 1950s with 'Kaantha'; teaser drops on his birthday; Check out

Prepare to be whisked away into the colorful streets of Madras in the 1950s with the upcoming period drama 'Kaantha'. The much-anticipated teaser of 'Kaantha' will be released today on July 28 at 3 PM, which happens to coincide with Dulquer Salmaan’s birthday, just in time for the special day.


'Kaantha' marks Dulquer’s return to the period genre, however, he has already filled our hearts with amazing performances from this genre in films such as 'Mahanati', 'Kurup', 'Sita Ramam', 'King of Kotha', and 'Lucky Baskhar'. Additionally, not only is Dulquer acting in this film, but he will also be backing it financially as a producer alongside Rana Daggubati.



The film also stars Rana Daggubati, Bhagyashri Borse, and Samuthirakani in key roles. Rana, whose last Tamil appearance was as the antagonist in 'Vettaiyan' opposite Rajinikanth, adds a powerful presence to the ensemble. Bhagyashri Borse, known for her promising performances, will also be seen in the upcoming film 'Kingdom'.



Helmed by Selvamani Selvaraj, Kaantha brings together a strong technical crew. Music is composed by Jhanu Chanthar, while Dani Sanchez-Lopez handles cinematography, promising a rich visual palette to match the period setting. Lewllyn Anthony Gonsalvez, known for his crisp and impactful editing, is in charge of the film’s post-production.

The project is jointly produced under Dulquer’s banner, Wayfarer Films, and Rana’s Spirit Media, making this a collaboration of two powerhouse talents from different film industries.
