Ee Maya Peremito runs into controversy for hurting jain sentiments; producers issue statement

Following massive protests, the producers issued a statement and said it wasn't their intention to hurt religious sentiments. They have also muted the offensive lyrics from the song.
"It was brought to our notice yesterday morning that the lyrics of one of the songs in our movie 'Ee Maya Peremito' hurt religious sentiments soon after which we proceeded to remove the video song from YouTube. Later in the evening, we were informed that some members of your community disrupted the screening of our movie in Nellore, Kakinada, Guntur, etc. We immediately responded through a video recording and promised to mute the lyrics from the movie as per their request. (sic)," read a statement from the producers.
The producers also informed that while the lyrics were immediately muted in Hyderabad, they would be reflected in theatres outside Hyderabad on September 23.
"We held a press meet this morning and announced that the lyrics have been muted and the same will start reflecting across all the Qube theatres in Hyderabad from today and in theatres outside Hyderabad from tomorrow. For UFO theatres, we are in the process of acquiring an endorsement from the Censor Board and the change will start reflecting in a day or two due to the technicalities involved. (sic)," the producers informed.
"The entire team of Ee Maya Peremito apologises to all of you for hurting your sentiments; it was never our intention to disrespect or hurt anyone. (sic)," they added.

they clearly put this intentionally. The lyrics has negative 100 % relation to anything the song and lyrics and movie has to convey. anyhow, we jains arent bother much - if they remove good - if not we won''t go on breaking things! thats for sure.Read allPost comment
