Excited to play a central character in Samyuktha Menon’s The Black Gold: Chandrika Ravi

Chandrika Ravi, the Australian actress of Indian origin known for films like Veera Simha Reddy and Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu , will next be seen in a lead role in Samyuktha Menon’s upcoming action-drama The Black Gold . Speaking to us, the actress said her character is central to the film’s narrative.

“When director Yogi sir called me for the narration, he mentioned that he had written the character with me in mind,” she revealed. Describing the role, she added, “She’s very powerful without having to do anything extra to show it. She’s calm yet powerful.”

Chandrika, who began training in classical dance and acting at the age of three, also shared that the film features her in a major dance number. “I have a very big song in this film,” she said. The actress also opened up about sharing screen space with veteran actor Nasser, calling it a “pinch-me moment.” “These are people I grew up watching. There’s so much you can learn from the greats in the industry,” she added.
