Rakul Preet Singh was a model. During college days, at the age of 18, she tried her hand in the career of modelling and won five pageant titles including Femina Miss Fresh Face, People's Choice Miss Indiatimes, Femina Miss Beautiful Eyes, Femina Miss Talented and Femina Miss Beautiful Smile in 2011. Rakul has acted in over 20 films in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Kannada. It has been eight years since Rakul Preet forayed into the industry in 2011 and there has been no looking back for the actress since then.

She made her acting debut in Raghav Loki’s Kannada film ‘Gilli’ (2009), which was the remake of Tamil hit film ‘7G Rainbow Colony’. The movie was a critical success. She made her Tollywood debut in the film ‘Keratam’ (2011) with Siddharth Rajkumar. The film did not do well at the box office however, her fifth film ‘Venkatadri Express’ got a commercial success. Her effective portrayal of a brave girl Prarthana in the latter gave way to a bigger role in Sriwass directorial ‘Loukyam’, starring alongside Gopichand.

Rakul Preet Singh displayed her admirable Telugu accent and chameleon-like acting in the psychological thriller ‘Nannaku Prematho’, where she acted alongside Tollywood star Jr NTR. Her fans got a glimpse of her mouthing Telugu lines in her own voice in the film that was released in January 2016. According to the reports, it was at the behest of director Sukumar, she agreed to dub in her voice and has been widely appreciated for her performance as a business tycoon’s daughter Divyanka.

The Delhi native has shared screen space with many star actors in the Telugu film industry and continues to be in the limelight with her films ‘Nannaku Prematho’, ‘Sarrainodu’ and ‘Dhruva’ which earned huge collections at the box office. The actress had signed the film with Bellamkonda Sreenivas in ‘Jaya Janaki Nayaka’ (2017), directed by Boyapati Srinu. Surprisingly, it is learnt that the leggy lass hiked her remuneration and has demanded a whopping of Rs 1.5 crore for the film and emerged as one of the highest paid actresses in Tollywood.

Rakul Preet Singh who has a mixed line-up of films in her kitty. The actress has been trying her hands on different genres and is leaving no stone unturned to get into the skin of her character. She has three Tamil films lined up in her kitty including Suriya’s ‘NGK’, Rajath Ravi Shankar’s directorial and R Ravi Kumar’s project. She has become a part of a prestigious Bollywood project with Ajay Devgn. While ‘NGK’ is gearing up for release in November 2018, the rest of the movies are in the filming stage.
