Happy Birthday Riya Sen: Smouldering Hot Photos of the Bengali Bombshell

Riya Sen is the daughter of famous Bollywood actress Moon Moon Sen and the granddaughter of Suchitra Sen, a legend in Bengali cinema. Her elder sister Raima Sen also happens to be a noted actress. In 2017, Riya tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend Shivam Tewari in a hush-hush ceremony in Pune. While the couple got married in a traditional Bengali style, the attendees include only family members and a few friends. Shivam is a photography enthusiast.

Before making her leading lady debut with Bharathiraja’s Tamil film ‘Taj Mahal’, Riya Sen appeared as a child artist in the Hindi fantasy film ‘Vishkanya’ (1991). The movie also marked the debut of Pooja Bedi as the female lead. In 1998, Riya shot to fame with the musical video of Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi by Falguni Pathak. During the shooting of the song, she was pursuing her education at National Institute of Fashion Technology. The peppy number is a hot favourite among the 90s kids.

Riya Sen was supposed to make her Bollywood debut with Love You Hamesha opposite Akshaye Khanna, but unfortunately, the film was shelved. Eventually, she made her lead debut with N Chandra’s sex comedy ‘Style’. While the film pioneered the trend of commercial success for small budget films in India, it also introduced talented actors like Sharman Joshi, Sahil Khan and Shilpi Mudgal to Hindi cinema. After a few bad outings, Riya returned to form with the surprise success of Jhankaar Beats, a musical comedy by Sujoy Ghosh.

The bold diva is a trained professional in Kathak, kickboxing and belly dancing. A few years ago, she even became a certified yoga teacher and trainer. Sharing the news to her Instagram followers, she wrote “Hiya all ! as you know, Yoga has transformed my life and I am now a certified Yoga teacher and trainer! I take this opportunity to engage with you and help you transform your life through Yoga as well! (sic)” During the shooting of Shaadi No. 1 in France, Riya Sen was run over by a stuntman's motorbike. Though she wasn't seriously injured, she was knocked unconscious by the accident.

Riya Sen is addicted to chocolates. In 2007, she even underwent a brief detoxification session in Bangkok for the same, but it didn’t help. Opening up on the episode, she said “Chocolates are something which now I have resigned myself to. I have tried everything to get rid of the addiction, but now I have taken it in my stride. In fact I have two chocolates on getting up in the morning and my room is full of them. Even my mom and sister Raima have started gifting them to me as they are quite adjusted to my passio”.

Right from an ethnic lehenga to a voluptuous bikini or sizzling monokini, Riya Sen certainly knows how to nail it in any outfit with utmost grace and captivating charm.
