Sumanth has been one of the most loved actors in Tollywood. The actor is known for impeccable acting prowess and versatility and enjoys a massive fan following. In fact, as the superstar turned a year older today, he was inundated with best wishes from his fan from all across the world. The hashtag #HBDSumanth started trending on Twitter since this morning as the actor's fans began the celebrations. Fans thronged Twitter with wishes and continue doing so. Sumanth made his debut with Prema Katha which was directed by Ram Gopal Varma and starred Antara Mali as the lead actress. On the occasion of his birthday, we take a look at some of our favourite movies starring Sumanth.

Satyam
Satyam marked the directorial debut of Surya Kiran. The film released in 2003, was a love story between a cab driver-cum-writer played by Sumanth and Genelia D’Souza was seen as a medico. This is considered one of Sumanth’s best performances. Produced by Akkineni Nagarjuna, the film remained one of the biggest hits in the career of the actor. The music album of Satyam comprises of soulful, romantic and peppy numbers.

Gowri
Sumanth played a motorcycle mechanic Gowri who falls in love with the daughter of a wealthy businessman. Sumanth’s performance in the film was highly appreciated, and the film received positive reviews from audience and critics alike. Produced by Sravanthi Ravi Kishore, the film also featured Charmme Kaur, Atul Kulkarni, Vizag Prasad, Naresh, Kousalya, Sharwanand, Ahuti Prasad, Tanikella Bharani, Chalapathi Rao, Venu Madhav and others.

Godavari
Directed by Sekhar Kammula, the film starred Sumanth, Kamalinee Mukherjee and Neetu Chandra in the lead roles. Sumanth made way into millions of hearts through his character of an aspiring politician. The film was released in 2006, supported by positive reviews from critics. It went on to win five Nandi Awards and one Filmfare Award. The music is composed by KM Radha Krishnan, who is known for his refreshing take on music and his tunes are memorable.

Golconda High School
Sumanth had once again proved his versatility by starring in a sports backdrop film Golconda High School, which is based on the book The Men Within, written by Hari Mohan Paruvu. So many years have gone by but even today the film is remembered as one of the most influential films of all time. Directed by Mohan Krishna Indraganti, the film was a critical and commercial success. Sumanth’s role as a cricket coach Sampath will never be forgotten!

Malli Raava
After a series of failures, Sumanth back on track with Gowtam Tinnanuri’s rom-com Malli Raava. The film received critical acclaim for its performances, direction, storyline, humour and music. Malli Raava revolves around Karthik and Anjali who keep bumping into each other during different phases of their lives grow closer with each meeting. The film had Aakanksha Singh playing the female lead. It was her Tollywood debut.
