Actress Tabu turned a year older today. Undoubtedly, she is one of the leading actors in the industry who proved her acting skills time and again. She made her acting debut in 1982 as a child artist in Bazaar and went on to become one of the finest actors of Indian cinema. The talented and gorgeous actor was a part of many super hit films. The actress bagged two National Awards and six Filmfare Awards for her extraordinary work. Tabu has been a part of more than 80 Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali and Marathi till now. Coolie No. 1
Coolie No 1 is the story of a wealthy woman who played who falls in love with a coolie tries to prove that their love is stronger than the differences in their social status. Tabu made her Tollywood debut with this Raghavendra Rao directed-film in which she romanced Venkatesh. Playing the daughter of a millionaire Ranjani, Tabu exhibited the charm and skill, which won her notice in her Telugu debut as well.

Prema Desam
Prema Desam follows the story of an orphan and the captain of his college football team Karthik who saves his the life of a rich boy from the rival college Arun during a fight befriends him. Things become worse when they both fall for the same girl. The film was a blockbuster hit at the box office and Tabu earned praise for her portrayal of a collegegoer Divya. Music composed by AR Rahman, the album has the very popular tracks like Prema Prema, Hello Doctor, College Style, Mustafa and Vennela. Mustafa became an instant hit among music lovers and till date, the tuneful song is a favourite in every household and a most-sought-after friendship anthem.

Ninne Pelladata
Tabu played Majalakshmi who arrives in the city for flight training falls in love with Seenu forcibly taken by her family, leaving the duo to an unknown fate. Tabu garnered a lot of praise this movie and she was also received for a Filmfare award. Directed by Krishna Vamsi, the Akkineni Nagarjuna starrer won a National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu for the year.

Aavida Maa Aavide
Aavida Maa Aavide tells the story of Vikrant and Archana who fall in love with each other get married in the presence of their families. When Archana dies in an accident, the parents force Vikrant to marry Jhansi. Things become complicated when Archana comes back to Vikrant’s life. Tabu’s performance as a middle-class wife was not only recognised but was also widely appreciated.

Chennakesava Reddy
Chennakesava Reddy starred Nandamuri Balakrishna, Shriya Saran and Tabu directed by VV Vinayak. Tabu played the wife of Balayya, Seeta in the film which performed well at the box office. Tabu’s character did not have substantial screen space in this movie, but she registered her presence because of her powerful performance.
