Touted to be a suspense thriller, ''Play Back'' is promoted as India’s first movie on Cross Time Connection. A telephone makes a connection between the past and the present. The film also stars Arjun Kalyan, Spandana, Karthikeya Krishna Malladi, Ashok Vardhan, TNR, Murthy, Chakrapani Ananda, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Tagubotu Ramesh, Gowtham Raju, Deepthi, Vishnu and Jenny in pivotal roles.
The teaser of ''Play Back'' is purely

and hints at the core idea of the film. Nevertheless, it has hit the right chords with industry members, critics and trade analysts, who have lauded the teaser. It has cinematography by K Bujji. The film has music composed by Kamran. Play Back has been directed by Hari Prasad Jakka and produced by Prasadrao Peddineni under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Art Creations.
Hari Prasad Jakka worked as a screenplay writer in films like Mahesh Babu starrer 1 – Nenokkadine and Akkineni Naga Chaitanya starrer 100% Love. He made his directorial debut with the 2017 romantic comedy entertainer Darsakudu. For the unversed, Hari Prasad Jakka and popular filmmaker Sukumar are best friends since their college days. After completing their studies, they worked together for several years.
