Virata Parvam
is an upcoming Telugu period drama written and directed by
Venu Udugula
and it was jointly produced by Rana’s father D.Suresh Babu along with
Sudhar Cherukuri
. The film stars
Rana Dagguati
and Sai Pallavi playing the lead roles, while Priyamani, Nandita Das, Naveen Chandra,
Zarina Wahab,
Easwari Rao
and Sai Chand are playing other supporting roles in the film.
The film is said to be based on a Naxalite movement that took place in the Telangana region during the 1990s. The film was originally slated to release on 30th April 2021 but it has been postponed time and again due to the covid 19 protocols in India.
Earlier the film was rumoured to release directly on OTT but later the makers had rejected those claims saying it will only be released in theatres.
Now as per the latest reports making rounds in Tollywood film circles, the film had a massive deal with a popular OTT platform which offered Rs 41 crores for its director digital release and over another Rs 9 crores for the satellite rights in total the movie was offered over Rs 50 crores for a director OTT stream and Satellite release.
