Natasimha Nandamuri Balakrishna celebrates his 62nd birthday today June 10, 2022. The veteran actor is known for his outstanding portrayal of diverse roles in Telugu films. 'Samarasimha Reddy' is an action drama in which Balakrishna played the lead role. Set the backdrop of factionalism, the genre did not really exist in Bollywood back then but the star actor managed to pull it off perfectly. The B Gopal directorial was one of the biggest blockbuster films of Balayya. Anjala Zaveri, Simran and Sanghavi played the female leads in the movie.

Balakrishna took to new heights when he donned the role of a village youth who is trying to look after the people of his village. The actor managed to pull off this role and received Nandi Award for Best Actor for his stupendous performance in the film. Directed by B Gopal, the action drama was released in 2001 under the banner of Venkata Ramana Productions.

Balakrishna made his comeback with this Boyapati Srinu directorial in 2010. Boyapati, famed for his distinctive hero characterisations, presented Balayya in a fresh light in this movie. The actor played the dual roles of Srimannarayana, a college lecturer and Dr Narsimha, Srimannarayana's father and actresses Nayanthara and Sneha Ullal played the female leads.

The actor was excellent in the dual roles, Jaidev and Krishna. His second partnership with the director partnership was quite successful. Also starring Jagapathi Babu, Sonal Chauhan and Radhika Apte, the film became one of the biggest grossing films of 2014.
