Released towards the end of 2019, debutante director
Ritesh Rana’s
crime comedy
‘
Mathu Vadalara
’ struck the right chord with the young audience along with critical acclaim and decent box-office numbers. Helmed on a shoe-string budget, the film introduced MM Keeravani’s younger son Sri Simha as the protagonist and
Kaala Bhairava as the music composer. Along with the riveting storyline and engaging narration, actor Satya’s rib-tickling comedy worked well with the masses and that has resulted in extra shows for the film in Hyderabad.
If the on-going reports are anything to go by, “Mathu Vadalara” is all set for a
Hindi remake
and the original director Ritesh Rana is likely to wield the megaphone in Bollywood too. While sources claim that the remake version will have a ‘new spin to the narrative’, the script work is reportedly going on. However, an official confirmation regarding the project is still awaited.
Grapevine also suggests that Ritesh Rana and the producers have initially thought of helming Mathu Vadalara as a Hindi-Telugu bilingual, but dropped off the idea at the last minute.
The story of Mathu Vadalara revolves around two delivery agents, Babu and Yesu, who decide to adopt unlawful methods to make quick bucks. However, after a dramatic turnaround of events, Babu ends up unknowingly killing an old lady and lands in trouble.
