Recently,
SS Rajamouli
has officially announced that he will direct Telugu Superstar
Mahesh Babu after wrapping up his on-going project
RRR
(Roudram Ranam Rudhiram). During a pep talk with a TV channel, the ace filmmaker said “I had already revealed this multiple times. After wrapping up DVV Danayya’s film (RRR), I will direct a film for veteran producer KL Narayana and Mahesh Babu would be playing the protagonist in it.”
Meanwhile, the genre of this crazy collaboration has become a hot topic among T-town circles and netizens. During one of his old interviews, Mahesh Babu revealed that he won’t hesitate to act in a
historical drama
if a genius director like Rajamouli is on board. Adding fuel to fire, speculations are rife that the Baahubali director is already holding discussions with his father Vijayendra Prasad regarding the plot.
However, grapevine also suggests that Mahesh will be reportedly playing a spy in Rajamouli’s project which is touted to be an espionage thriller inspired by James Bond films. While there is no authentic information on any of the news, it looks like the battle is between historical drama and
spy thriller
among gossip mongers.
On the work front, Rajamouli is occupied with his upcoming film RRR (Roudram Ranam Rudhiram). Set against the pre-independence era of the 1920s, the film is a fictitious story based on two legendary freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharamaraju and Komaram Bheem. While Ram Charan is playing the former, Junior NTR will be seen as the latter. The period actioner is scheduled for a massive release on January 8, 2021.
