I know they say this about Bombay, but I think Hyderabad is the city of dreams: Sanjjanaa Galrani
She may be a Bangalore girl, but for actress Sanjjanaa Galrani, who comes to the city ever so often thanks to work, Hyderabad is like the
veritable ‘home away from home’. The 28-year-old, who shuttles between the two IT cities says she owes a lot to
Hyderabad for the name, fame and love she’s got here. “To be honest, I love Hyderabad just as much as I love Bangalore. Naa oka kannu Bangalore aithe inko kannu Hyderabad (Bangalore and Hyderabad are like my two eyes),” she says, emphasising on the fact that it’s tough to choose between the two. “I’d not hesitate to call this city my second home because of the love, fame, growth and enlightenment that it has given me. That’s why I keep coming back again and again. I’d say, that’s what Hyderabad does to you — you just can’t have enough of it,” the actress adds.
Needless to say, over the years, she’s figured just how to flirt with mana city — be it the food or fashion, the hot haunts or the best kept secret, Sanjju knows it all. “The iconic
“RFC is where film stars from all over the country shoot for a better part of their careers. It’s like a mini city where dreams are woven to be peddled on the silver screen. I too love shooting there. Why, even just being at the Ramoji film city gives me the thrills,” expresses the actress, who will soon be seen in a television serial Swarna Khadgam.
If RFC and Charminar charm her when she is in the city, what lures her back each time is the food. In fact, every trip to the city ends with packing lots of food to take back to Bengaluru, she says. “Hyderabad is a gastronomical paradise. And of all the yummy things you get here, haleem is my favourite Hyderabadi dish. I absolutely love it. Whenever I go back home during the Ramzan season, I carry some 15 kilos of haleem with me. So much so, I am almost always pulled aside at the airport for carrying excess baggage because there’s just so much food I carry back with me,” grins the actress, her eyes lighting up as she talks about food.
What would she recommend? “Oh there’s so much! You simply have to try the

. For an actor, it’s like your mecca, you know. I think Hyderabad is the city of dreams. I mean, people say that about Bombay all the time but it holds good for Hyderabad as well, especially considering it has the film city.”“RFC is where film stars from all over the country shoot for a better part of their careers. What would she recommend? “Oh there’s so much! You simply have to try the

dosa that they make here, the one with karam podi in it. It’s divine. I also love the Raju gari kodi pulao and chicken chips. I love the spices here too and I stock up enough to last me a year every time I travel. Thanks to Hyderabad, I just cannot eat bland food anymore,” she adds.Top Comment
