Inside Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Raj Nidimoru wedding: Close friend Shilpa Reddy shares visuals and ‘vivah kanukalu’ details

Samantha Ruth Prabhu married filmmaker Raj Nidimoru in a traditional Linga Bhairavi Vivaha ceremony at the Isha Foundation in Coimbatore on December 1. The actor shared her wedding pictures on Instagram on Monday, giving fans a first look at the serene and spiritual ceremony. Samantha’s close friend Shilpa Reddy also posted photos and videos, offering more glimpses into the intimate event.

In a photo shared by Shilpa, Samantha and Raj are seen seated together in their wedding attire, looking at each other affectionately. A video posted by her revealed the wedding gift—known as the vivah kanukalu—that was given to attendees. The curated set included incense made from Isha’s flowers, a note from Sadhguru, chocolate bars made in India, and a perfume from Samantha’s preferred brand, Secret Alchemist.

Ceremony began at 6 a.m., rooted in ancient yogic tradition

Shilpa also shared that the ceremony began as early as 6 a.m., expressing her excitement for the day. “The Bhuta Shuddhi Vivaha is described as a sort of ‘concrecation of marriages’ rooted in an ancient yogic tradition,” she wrote. She explained that the ritual allows two individuals to unite on an “elemental level,” forming a deeper and more foundational bond.

She posted visuals of the venue adorned with lamps and diyas decorated with natural flowers. The space was filled with white blooms, pink roses, and flower baskets placed at the corners, creating a serene and sacred atmosphere.

Another picture posted by Shilpa showed her sitting beside Samantha, who smiled warmly while holding her hand. Raj was seated next to Samantha, and both had exchanged garlands. Sharing the photo, Shilpa wrote, “A beautiful Bhuta Shudhi Vivaha ������ of Sam and Raj @isha.foundation. Enjoyed wearing this simple & beautiful kanchi cotton hand-woven sari in auspicious leaf green with red border paired with South Indian Temple jewellery from @manjulajewellers.”

A look at the couple’s past relationships

Samantha was previously married to actor Naga Chaitanya from 2017 to 2021. The couple had two weddings, following both Christian and Hindu traditions. On December 4, 2024, Chaitanya married actor Sobhita Dhulipala at Hyderabad’s iconic Annapurna Studios. Raj Nidimoru was earlier married to Shhyamali De, and the two are believed to have separated in 2022.

The ring’s striking cut and clarity sparked instant buzz online, with netizens calling it one of the most unique pieces they’ve seen.

Fans also pointed out that this wasn’t the ring’s first appearance. Scrolling through Samantha’s Instagram, they noticed she had already worn the same diamond earlier in the year. On February 13, 2025, she posted a close-up photo resting her face on her hand, where the ring was clearly visible. The same sparkling piece has also surfaced in multiple other close-up shots of the actor. On the work front, Samantha's recent outing was 'Subham', the horror comedy flick.
