Is it 'Vakeel Saab' for Pawan Kalyan, 'Liger' for Vijay Deverakonda and 'O Dear' for Prabhas? Registered titles of upcoming Telugu films

It’s mandatory for producers to register the titles of their upcoming films at the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce in Hyderabad. During the shooting stage itself, this formality will be carried out by the production house. However, unlike early years, registered titles of big-ticket films are doing the rounds among T-Town sources and eventually ending up on the internet in no time. Grapevine suggests that Dil Raju & Co has enrolled the title of ‘Vakeel Saab’ for Pawan Kalyan’s Pink remake, UV Creations have registered ‘O Dear’ and ‘Radhe Shyam’ for Prabhas and Pooja Hegde’s rom-drama, and Charmme Kaur has enrolled ‘Liger’ for Vijay Deverakonda’s actioner with Puri Jagannadh.

Despite hands-full with political commitments, Pawan Kalyan is making a comeback to acting by reprising Amitabh Bachchan’s role in the Telugu remake of Pink. Directed by MCA fame Venu Sriram, the shooting has recently kicked in Hyderabad. Leaked pics of the 48-year-old actor in a rugged avatar have already made the rounds on social media. According to reports, the Telugu version of Pink has been reportedly titled as ‘Vakeel Saab’ and the makers have registered the title at the Film Chambers. While the name of ‘Lawyer Saab’ also did the rounds, it looks like Pawan Kalyan and Dil Raju have zeroed in on Vakeel Saab. Sources claim that the title announcement will be done on the auspicious occasion of Ugadi.

Post the global reach of Baahubali franchise, Prabhas is no longer a South Indian actor as his popularity has transcended boundaries. After a brief holiday in a foreign destination, the 40-year-old actor has recently resumed the shooting of his 20th film directed by ‘Jil’ fame Radha Krishna Kumar. Starring the gorgeous Pooja Hegde as the leading lady, the film was initially rumoured to be titled as ‘Jaan’. However, gossip mills suggest that UV Creations has enrolled the titles of ‘O Dear’ and ‘Radhe Shyam’ for the Radha Krishna Kumar directorial. Only time will tell whether one among the two will emerge as the title of Prabhas20.

Popular producer S Radha Krishna of Haarika & Hassine Entertainments is on cloud nine with the astounding success of Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. According to Film Nagar sources, his production house has enrolled the title of ‘Ayinanu Poyi Ravale Hasthinaku’ for Junior NTR’s film with Trivikram Srinivas. The previous collaboration of the actor-director-producer trio ‘Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava’ ended up as a super success at the box-office. NTR is expected to join the shoot after the completion of Rajamouli’s RRR.

Directed by Koratala Siva, the shooting of Chiranjeevi’s next after Sye Raa is proceeding at a rapid pace and as mentioned earlier, the veteran actor is likely to play dual roles as Govind and Acharya. Touted to be a socio-political actioner, the plot of the film reportedly revolves around a middle-aged Naxalite-turned-social reformer who launches a fight against the Endowments Department over misappropriation of temple funds and donations. While the title of Govindacharya has been speculating for the past few months, latest reports reveal that Chiranjeevi and Koratala have zeroed in on ‘Acharya’ for the film and Matinee Entertainments enrolled the same at the Film Chambers. However, there is no official confirmation.

Vijay Deverakonda is teaming up with Puri Jagannadh for a new-age action-thriller tentatively titled as Fighter. Helmed as a multilingual, the shooting of the film recently flagged off in Mumbai with a marriage scene. While Bollywood bombshell Ananya Pandey is likely to play the leading lady, Karan Johar will be presenting the movie in Hindi through his Dharma Productions. As per latest reports, the title of the actioner has been changed from ‘Fighter’ to ‘Liger’ and it has been reportedly registered.

Touted to be a light-hearted entertainer, the shooting of Naga Chaitanya’s next with Geetha Govindam director Parasuram is expected to commence from May 2020 and the pre-production formalities are already in full swing. Ravishing beauty Rashmika Mandanna is reportedly roped in as the leading lady to romance the Akkineni hero. According to reports, the makers have recently registered the title of “Nageswara Rao” at the Film Chambers.
