'RRR', starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan, was one of the most-awaited and most famous Indian films of 2022. Rumour has it that a sequel of 'RRR' is reportedly in the works.
'RRR' (Rise Revolt Roar) revolves around the lives of revolutionaries Komaram Bheem (Jr NTR) and Alluri Seetharama Raju (Ram Charan) in pre-Independence India. Also starring Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Samuthirakani, Shriya Saran, Olivia Morris, Alison Doody, and Ray Stevenson, the film has earned over Rs 1,150 crore at the box office worldwide.
According to the insider, there will be a sequel to the film, which will begin filming in 2024. Jr NTR and Ram Charan will be back in their respective roles, and it will be made by SS Rajamouli on a grand scale. Rajamouli and his father KV Vijayendra Prasad are reportedly keen to extend 'RRR' into a franchise, and Vijayendra gave an idea for the sequel. Report also say the pre-production of the film will be commenced in 2023, and 2024 will mark the beginning of production.
It will be Rajamouli‘s second franchise after Prabhas-starrer 'Baahubali' if this claim proves to be genuine. Meanwhile, the maverick filmmaker has an intriguing project in the works. He will be teaming up with superstar Mahesh Babu on a heavy-budget project, which will begin shooting later this year. Mahesh Babu, on the other hand, will soon start shooting for his next with director Trivikram Srinivas for 'SSMB 28'.
