All about ‘Dhandoraa’
Helmed by Muralikanth Devasoth, ‘Dhandoraa’ started streaming on the platform from January 14. Set in a small village in Telangana, the film revolves around Sivaji, who is deeply invested in caste hierarchy.
“When Shivaji, a man who firmly believes in caste traditions, dies, even his own community refuses him space in their burial ground. The incident shakes the entire village. Through the actions of his son Vishnu, village sarpanch Sitharam, and Sujatha, the film blends grief with dark humor to reveal caste conflicts, human contradictions, and how one death slowly brings change to rural life,” the summary on the streamer reads.
TOI ranked the film 3 out of 5, and the review reads, “Dhandoraa is a sharp, brutal examination of the caste system and the quiet violence it inflicts on everyday lives. Rather than offering solutions or moral grandstanding, the film chooses a more unsettling path—showing how caste seeps into personal choices, relationships, and self-worth, leaving lasting scars.”
