Jr NTR-Prashanth Neel's epic action saga locks release date; Special glimpse to release on actor's birthday

The highly anticipated collaboration between Jr NTR and 'KGF' and 'Salaar' fame director Prashanth Neel, currently known as NTRNeel, has officially locked in its release date. The makers also shared details regarding a special glimpse they will unveil on the actor's special day.

The movie is officially set to release on June 25, 2026.

The makers of the film made the announcement with a poster on social media, of what they're calling a "havoc-filled experience". In their post, the makers also included, "You’ll hear the loudest chants!" and that a special glimpse will be shown for Jr NTR’s birthday.

They wrote, "A Massacre by the dynamic duo delivers a notice for a havoc-filled experience ���� �������� ��������. You’ll hear the loudest chants! #NTRNeel A Special glimpse for the Man of Masses @JrNTR’s birthday."

The confirmation puts to rest earlier rumors that the film might be aiming for a Sankranthi 2026 release. According to a Gulte report, the team felt that June, right after the summer holidays, would be a better time to reach a wider audience, avoiding the intense competition from other big films during the Sankranthi festival period.

Jr NTR will be celebrating his 42nd birthday on May 20th, and fans would be expecting more updates and sneak peeks related to NTRNeel around that time.

While details about the film are still under wraps, 'NTRNeel' is described as an epic action saga with emotionally charged incidents set in a periodic timeline. Though unconfirmed, there are speculations the film will be titled 'Dragon'. Some fans have even analyzed the announcement poster, suggesting possible connections to the year 1969 and locations such as Bhutan, China, and India, leading to theories about a potential link to the 'KGF' universe.

The film has officially begun shooting. The project went on floors in February 2025 with a grand start at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, where the director shot a large-scale action sequence involving thousands of junior artists even before Jr NTR joined the sets.

Jr NTR himself joined the shooting schedule on April 22, 2025, with the next phase of filming taking place in Kunta, Mangalore, Karnataka.
