Telugu actor
Kiran Abbavaram recently expressed his disappointment over the lack of recognition for Telugu films in
Tamil Nadu and how other language films get a good reception in Telugu states. Recently, the actor spoke about his upcoming film 'K Ramp' in Tamil Nadu and
Pradeep Ranganathan's 'Dude' in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Kiran Abbavaram on content quality and screen availability
Speaking to Galatta Plus, Kiran Abbavaram shared that he recently watched Kalyani Priyadarshan's 'Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra', which is running housefull even in the second week. Applying to it, he mentioned that his concern is that even Telugu actors are making good content, it's not rolling there the way it is in Telugu states. "People say it will be watched if the content is great. But young Telugu heroes are also making great content. Almost ten Tamil heroes have a prominent market in Telugu now. No young Telugu hero has the same in Tamil," he added.
Releasing 'K Ramp' in Tamil Nadu
Kiran Abbavaram also explained his frustration with the limited screens available for his upcoming movie K-Ramp in Tamil Nadu. He said, "Now I want to release K Ramp in Tamil theatres, as Pradeep Ranganathan has secured theatres in Telugu for his film. I also wanted my film to be released there in that way. But I know I won't get it".
He further added, "Now, when I say this, everyone will discuss logistics, stardom, and other related topics. I can't say it's a mafia, it's just a business. We just want the same kind of love we are giving. I hope I get it at least for Chennai Love Story."
'K Ramp', directed by Jains Nani, stars Kiran Abbavaram and Yukti Thareja in the lead roles. The film is slated for release on October 18, 2025.
On the other hand, Pradeep Ranganathan's 'Dude', hits theatres in the Telugu states on October 17, 2025.
