The upcoming horror-thriller 'Kishkindhapuri' has been granted an 'A' certificate by the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Ahead of its release next week, the makers of the film shared a new update about the film. They shared a post on their official X handle, and it seems they have happily accepted the adult rating for the movie.
Here's what they posted on social media.
'Kishkindhapuri' bags an 'A' rating from CBFC
The makers of Kishkindhapuri have made a bold move by accepting an 'A' certificate from the Censor Board. The CBFC approved the film with zero cuts. Hence, the film will be out in theaters as the director,
Koushik Pegallapati, intended.
The production company announced the news on X, warning audiences, "Get ready to scream and get scared with new-age horror in its most massive form. Kids & the faint-hearted, stay away."
Clash with Teja Sajja's 'Mirai'
The film will clash with
Teja Sajja's 'Mirai' at the box office. The latter is an action-adventure film with religious themes, made to attract families, which is a big audience in India. This direct clash will be a test of which film can draw more crowds.
However, the producer,
Sahu Garapati, looked quite confident about his product. At the film's trailer launch, he said he was not worried about the clash, hinting that 'Mirai' should be the one to worry.
More about 'Kishkindhapuri'
Directed by Koushik Pegallapati, the film stars
Anupama Parameswaran, Sai Srinivas Bellamkonda, and Makrand Deshpande. The film's story revolves around an old radio station where, during a ghost tour, visitors enter the same, disturbing a dormant spirit. All of them get trapped inside, and now they must find a way to escape as supernatural forces threaten their lives.
The horror drama has been scheduled to hit cinema halls on September 12, 2025.
