Kochi theatre plays only the second half of Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa 2: The Rule'

Allu Arjun starrer 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' has been ruling the theatres since its release on December 5t 2025. The Cinepolis Centre Square Mall theatre in Kochi experienced a hilarious mix-up during a screening of the action thriller. On December 6, 2024, the theatre mistakenly played the second half of the highly anticipated film without showing the first half, leaving audiences confused.

As per an Indian Express report, the incident occurred during the 6:30 PM show when viewers were treated to the end credits rolling at what they thought was the intermission. Initially, some audience members gave the theatre management the benefit of the doubt, considering the trend of non-linear storytelling in modern cinema. However, it soon became clear that they had missed out on the entire first half of the 3-hour-20-minute film.

Disappointment quickly spread through the crowd as they realized they had only seen part of the story. A few frustrated viewers demanded refunds, while others insisted that the first half be screened. Responding to the uproar, Cinepolis management decided to screen the first half at 9 PM for a small group of around ten people who chose to stay back. They also promised refunds to those affected by the mix-up.

'Pushpa 2: The Rule', directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, has been a massive box office success since its release. The film is a sequel to 'Pushpa: The Rise' and continues to follow the story of Pushpa Raj as he manages the red sandalwood smuggling trade.

Despite this amusing mishap, 'Pushpa 2' has garnered rave reviews and impressive box office numbers, grossing over Rs 621 crore worldwide within just three days of its release.
