Mufasa Promo: Sitara Ghattamaneni says dad Mahesh Babu is just like The Lion King’s Mufasa
'Mufasa: The Lion King' is all set to roar into cinemas on December 20, 2024, and the buzz is palpable among Telugu fans, who are eagerly awaiting Mahesh Babu’s powerful voice as the iconic Mufasa. Adding to the excitement, the superstar’s daughter, Sitara Ghattamaneni, opened up in a new promo about how her father perfectly embodies the beloved character, drawing fascinating parallels between Mufasa and Mahesh Babu.
“I feel really proud that my dad is playing Mufasa because it’s such an iconic character. He’s a lot like Mufasa in real life—loving, protective, and caring,” Sitara shared, glowing with admiration. She also revealed her father’s commitment to the role, saying, “He practiced a lot for this as it’s his first time doing something like this. I keep teasing him that I worked with Disney first for Frozen. He’s going to be amazing.”
In a sweet anecdote, Sitara reminisced about how Mahesh Babu would cradle their pet dog, Snoopy, in his arms, mimicking the iconic scene of Rafiki holding Simba in 'The Lion King'. This tender moment further highlighted his playful and caring nature, aligning perfectly with Mufasa’s personality.
On the professional front, Mahesh Babu was last seen in Guntur Kaaram, directed by Trivikram Srinivas, which was released earlier this year. The film explored the emotionally charged relationship between a rebellious son and his estranged mother, with Mahesh Babu leading a stellar ensemble cast that included Sreeleela, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Ramya Krishnan, Eeswari Rao, and Jayaram. The actor’s versatile performance left a lasting impact, and now fans eagerly await his vocal debut in the world of Disney magic.
