Naga Babu resigns from MAA after Prakash Raj loses presidency

Actor and producer

Naga Babu Konidela

has submitted his resignation as a member of MAA (Movie Artistes Association) on Monday.

The actor had openly supported Prakash Raj as presidential candidate before the elections and now that

Vishnu Manchu

garnered most votes for the role of President, the actor decided to resign. He took to social media to share the news, writing, “MAA is suffering from regionalism and an irrational mind-set. I would like to not continue as a member of such an organisation anymore. I will send my official resignation to the committee through my staff in the next 48 hours. Please understand that I have taken the decision in my own consciousness and was not influenced by anyone.”

Naga Babu was confident that Prakash Raj would have a land-slide victory in the elections, even attacking panel members under Vishnu verbally. “Naresh is the most inconsistent person I’ve seen, he doesn’t even know what he speaks. Prakash Raj is the only one who’s fit to be the president of MAA. Kota Srinivasa Rao is too old, no one should take him seriously,” he said.

Naga Babu

turned off the comments section under his post after receiving flak from fans.

Meanwhile, Vishnu Manchu will soon swear in as the new President of MAA. Chiranjeevi took to social media to congratulate him.
