After acquiring the much-needed success with
‘Chalo’
this year, young actor
Naga Shaurya has hit the rough patch once again with back-to-back failures at the box-office like ‘Kanam’, ‘Ammammagarillu’ and the recent ‘Nartanasala’. The grapevine is abuzz that the 29-year-old actor has been roped in for a pivotal role in the Telugu remake of the
South Korean
blockbuster
‘Miss Granny’
.
While an official confirmation from the makers is still awaited, ‘Kalyana Vaibhogame’ fame
Nandini Reddy
will helm the superhit comedy-drama which will be jointly bankrolled by noted producer
Suresh Babu and Sunitha Tati. Touted to be a bilingual,
Samantha Akkineni will reportedly play the titular role in the film and share the screen with Naga Shaurya. ‘Miss Granny’ showcases the story of a grandma who magically finds herself in the body of her 20-year-old self after clicking a picture in a mysterious studio.
Following the footsteps of Kollywood’s lady superstar
Nayanthara, Samantha has been showing her affinity towards content-driven films like ‘Rangasthalam’, ‘Mahanati’, and ‘U Turn’. The 31-year-old actress is currently shooting for an untitled romantic-drama opposite her hubby
Naga Chaitanya, which is directed by
Shiva Nirvana
of ‘Ninnu Kori’ fame.
