Nagarjuna says his sons Naga Chaitanya and Akhil 'don’t have the guts' to remake Ram Gopal Varma’s Shiva
Ram Gopal Varma’s iconic 1989 film Shiva is set to return to theatres on November 14 in a newly remastered 4K version. Starring Nagarjuna, Amala Akkineni, and Raghuvaran, the cult classic will once again bring back the raw energy and realism that changed the face of Telugu cinema.
He also shared a touching memory of how his father, the late Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), reacted to the film’s success. “I remember my father watching it two days after its release. Even as all kinds of comments poured in, he took me for a drive and told me the film was a huge hit,” Nagarjuna recalled.
The newly remastered version of Shiva will hit theatres on November 14, allowing a new generation of audiences to experience the groundbreaking classic on the big screen.
Nagarjuna is currently working on his 100th film tentatively named, 'King100'. On the other hand Naga Chaitanya is busy with his next adventure thriller project 'NC24'.

Nagarjuna recalls watching Shiva again
Speaking to the media ahead of the release, Nagarjuna expressed heartfelt gratitude to RGV for giving him one of his most cherished films. "Just a few days ago, when I watched Shiva again, it felt like I was watching a completely new film. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience," he said.He also shared a touching memory of how his father, the late Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), reacted to the film’s success. “I remember my father watching it two days after its release. “Chay and Akhil don’t have the guts to remake Shiva”
When asked if his sons — Naga Chaitanya or Akhil Akkineni — might ever star in a remake of Shiva, Nagarjuna laughed and replied, “Chay and Akhil don’t have the guts to remake Shiva.” The actor also expressed a desire to work with his wife, Amala, once again in a future project.A timeless classic reborn
Shiva marked Ram Gopal Varma’s directorial debut and was produced by Akkineni Venkat and Yarlagadda Surendra under the banners of Annapurna Studios and SS Creations.
