Actor Nani has spoken out against Telangana Minister Konda Surekha after she made controversial statements regarding the divorce of his fellow co-stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya. Surekha stirred controversy by suggesting that politician KT Rama Rao (KTR) played a role in their divorce. Soon after, actor Nagarjuna Akkineni, father of Chaitanya, asked her to retract her statement in a social media post. Both Naga Chaitanya and Samantha responded to the incident with official statements.

Now, Nani has voiced his frustration, saying, “It’s disgusting to see politicians thinking they can get away with talking any kind of nonsense. When your words can be so irresponsible, it’s stupid of us to expect that you will have any responsibility toward your people.”

He further added, “This isn’t just about actors or cinema, nor is it about any political party. It’s unacceptable for someone in such a respectable position to speak such baseless rubbish in front of the media and think it’s okay. We should all condemn such practices, which reflect poorly on our society.”

Konda Surekha had accused KTR of demanding that Samantha be "sent" to him in exchange for protecting Nagarjuna’s N-Convention Centre from demolition. According to Surekha, when Samantha refused, it supposedly led to her divorce from Chaitanya.

Samantha responded: “Konda Surekha Garu, I am proud of what I’ve become—please don’t trivialize it. Your words, as a minister, carry a lot of weight, and I ask that you be responsible and respectful of people’s privacy. Can you please keep my name out of political games? I have always stayed away from politics and intend to keep it that way.”

Naga Chaitanya called the claims “false, ridiculous, and unacceptable.” He added, “Women should be supported and respected. Using someone’s personal life for media attention is shameful.”
