Nani is on cloud nine at the present moment with his latest outing ‘
Jersey
’ running to packed houses both in the Telugu states and the US. Directed by
Gautam Tinnanuri
of ‘Malli Raava’ fame, the sports-drama traces the life of an aged cricketer who is determined to prove his worth at the age of 36. Along with the heart-touching story and mind-boggling climax, the stellar performances from all lead actors like Nani, Shraddha Srinath and Sathyaraj have aided ‘Jersey’ to hit the bull’s eye.
Besides acting and a short stint as an assistant director, not many know that Nani is an active producer. The 35-year-old ‘Majnu’ star has co-produced two films in Telugu namely ‘D for Dopidi’ in 2013 and the critically-acclaimed ‘
Awe
’ which created a sensation in 2018.
According to industry sources, Nani is all set to
bankroll
his third production along with
Swapna Dutt. Reportedly planned on a mini-budget, the project is expected to be a new-age comedy caper featuring a bunch of talented actors like
Rahul Ramakrishna,
Priyadarshi,
Naveen Polisetty
and
Shalini Pandey.
Mighty impressed with the script, Swapna Dutt pitched the same to Nani and the versatile hero immediately came on board as a co-producer. Directed by Anudeep of ‘Pittagoda’ fame, the project is expected to go on floors shortly. While Rahul and Priyadarshi are already popular comedians, Naveen is famous for his online comedy show and Shalini Pandey is a sensation among the youth.
